Kevin’s story
Kevin – a name chosen by his father in hopes he’d live a life full of love and give some back along the way – has always found meaning in the quiet connections that shape people and ideas.
Born in Houston, raised in Shanghai, and now based in Boston, Kevin grew up navigating cultural shifts and urban transitions – experiences that shaped a worldview grounded in empathy, curiosity, and reflection. He picked up photography at a young age, drawn first to cityscapes and later to the subtle dynamics of documentary and portraiture. In 2021, he launched his own studio to explore how framing and perspective could reveal more than just what’s visible – often capturing stillness, tension, or trust in a single image.
That same instinct for finding overlooked perspectives led him to finance. Though currently a sophomore at Boston University, Kevin has worked at Equiturn Holdings since 2023, helping grow the firm’s Northeast presence and contributing to numerous transactions, including advising an investor group on its bid for TikTok’s U.S. operations. In both photography and finance, Kevin is drawn to the unseen – whether it’s a quiet moment others overlook or the value hidden within a business. He approaches each with curiosity, searching for structure, meaning, and new ways to see.
Outside of work, Kevin finds rhythm and presence through movement and music. He grew up playing basketball and soccer, recently picked up snowboarding and tennis, and spends his downtime writing, producing, and singing. He enjoys being on stage, not for the spotlight, but for the connection it creates. Across disciplines, he values the process of building something that resonates.
Through it all, Kevin is drawn to the quiet forces that shape how people move, connect, and make sense of the world. His work reflects a simple belief: that perspective creates possibility and that meaning, once uncovered, deserves to last.
